About

A Maryland nonprofit for men rebuilding, for over 40 years.

Damascus House exists for a straightforward reason: men in early recovery need somewhere steady to stand while the rest of life comes back together, and that kind of place should be within reach.

Affordable, compassionate care, close to home

Damascus House is a nonprofit organization that has served Maryland’s recovery community for more than 40 years. Across those decades, it has become part of the story of many individuals and families.

We serve adult men working through substance use disorders, most of them from the Baltimore area and Anne Arundel County. Some arrive straight from inpatient treatment. Some come after years of trying to manage it alone.

What we offer is not complicated: a stable place, a routine that holds, counseling and groups, daily 12-step connection, and people who expect something of you and stay in the room when it gets hard.

The work is quiet and it takes time. That is the point.
